What is occupational therapy?

Occupational therapy addresses problems specific to the upper limb. This includes the hand, wrist, elbow and shoulder. At our clinics that offer OT, our hand therapists are equipped to help rehabilitate both simple and more involved injuries, and will help an individual’s ability to return to function.

A PT or OT who has specialized knowledge and advanced certification of the upper extremity and its rehabilitation is known as a Certified Hand Therapist (CHT). A CHT has passed a higher level examination after no less than five years of clinical experience.
